Example:
3 × 4 = 4 + 4 + 4 = 12
Create rows and columns
Example:
5 × 3 = 5 rows × 3 columns = 15 squares
Count by the multiplier
Example:
6 × 4: Count by 4s six times: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24
Double known facts
Example:
4 × 6: 2 × 6 = 12, so 4 × 6 = 12 + 12 = 24
Special rule for multiplying by zero
Example:
7 × 0 = 0 (Any number times zero is zero)
